2009 Butterfly East Gate Open Wrap-Up

Butterfly/ East Gate Open #5 Tournament players in Roanoke. VA on March 14th.
Roanoke, Va--Chris O'Brian came out the big winner, during the final tournament of the Butterfly/ East Gate Open Series in Roanoke, VA on March 14th.
O'Brian won the Class A event over Raleigh arch rival Jim McQueen and also took the series point championship over McQueen.
O'Brian was the only two time winner in the five event tour. Ly Lee, Fabian Schlenburg, and McQueen also shared victories.
Sam Saadat finished third in series points.

Sam Berry won the Class B event and also took the divisions points championship. Jerry Orlando finished second in series points.
Charlotte’s Simon Brain and Armdillo Auriemmo won the U-3600 doubles.
Auriemmo also had big tournament in singles beating Dean Kapsalakis, Billy Marshall, and Sam Saadat, after coming into the tournament rated 1712.
Roanoke’s Kapsalakis also had a big day beating tournament winner O'Brian, Marshall, Saadat, and Brian after starting the tournament at 1742.

Fast improving Austin Shrewsbury won his second straight U-1400 Recreation tournament on Friday night.
The tournament series raised $2105.00 for the East Gate Church of the Nazarene building fund, where the tournaments are held and the Roanoke club meets on Monday night.
The 2010 Butterfly/East Gate Open Series will start in November.
