2009 Reno Spring Fling
2009 Reno Spring Fling Table Tennis Tournament

Showing off our new venue, the South Reno Athletic Club (SRAC), this tournament got off on time and continued that way, thanks to our computer guru and friend, Craig Krum and his OMNIPONG program. Sixteen events, 55 players with an average of 3.5 events per player and four man round robins kept our 12 tables busy all day long. The players enjoyed extra runback space thanks to the use of two adjacent full size basketball courts. Butterfly premium balls were used for all matches, thanks to Martin Kilpatrick.

RSTTC top player, Mert Caglar, stole the show with wins in both the U2150 and the U2300 singles. Congratulations, Mert! The champ and James Therriault delighted the players and many spectators with their outstanding play in the U2300 which was 3/5 since the event was a five man round robin.

Michael Wong, 12 years old from the Sacramento Recreation Club (SACREC), won both the U1100 and the U1400 singles. Good for you Michael!
The tournament featured three senior events that were well attended. The Over 40 U1800 winner was Steve Adams from the SACREC. The Over 50 U1700 winner was Byron Davis from Salt Lake City, Utah. The Over 60 U1600 winner was Allan Ferrenberg from the Reno (RSTTC) Club.
