Timo Boll and Ma Long Spearhead Outfits for Euro-Asia All Stars Duel

Both Continental Unions announced the final selections on Thursday July 22, 2010 for the two day event; the result is that a mouth watering contest awaits.
European Champions in Action
Vladimir Samsonov of Belarus, winner of the Men’s Singles title at the European Championships on three occasions lines up alongside Timo Boll with Denmark’s Michael Maze, the reigning European champion plus Chen Weixing and Belgian hero, Jean-Michel Saive, completing the European team.
Undoubtedly, the presence of Jean-Michel Saive, the man who with younger brother Philippe took Belgian table tennis to new heights will prove an immense attraction for the adoring Belgian crowd.
Coach for the European team will be Ferenc Karsai, currently the coach for the Austrian Men’s Team.
Visitors
Meanwhile, joining Ma Long in the Asian team will be Japan’s Jun Mizutani, Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan, Korea’s Joo Se Hyuk and Hong Kong’s Tang Peng.
Park Do Cheon will be the Asian Team captain.
Europeans Have the Edge
The outcome of the overall contest lies on a knife-edge; earlier this year in Beijing, Asia prevailed by six matches to five and history does suggest that despite the deficit Europe might just have the upper hand.
In 2009 both team won on home soil.
