The 19th stop on the 2010 ITTF Junior Circuit, the Guatemala Junior Open commences in the country’s capital city by the same name on Wednesday August 4, 2010.

However with the staging of an ITTF Training Camp from Sunday 1st to Tuesday August 3rd, matters for what promises to be a busy week in the small Central American country have already begun.

Players from Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala are training have been present on the first two days of play under the guidance of Sweden’s Emanuel Chrisitansson and El Salvador’s Carlos Esnard.

Vamos
“Vamos chicos”, says Emanuel Christiansson on perfect Spanish to set matters under way with stretching exercises being the first requisite of the day.

“Carlos explains to the players why is so important to do stretching exercises before and after the training”, said Ramon Ortega Montes, the ITTF Competition Manager on duty in Guatemala. “The fibers of the muscles must go back to their positions and you will avoid injuries.”

Coach
A valuable explanation from Carlos Esnard who is a coach in more than one sense of the word; he is also the coach driver.

He arrived in a small coach with the players from El Salvador, in Guatemala he perform the role of driver between hotel and Training Center.

At the recent Central American and Caribbean Games in Puerto Rico, Carlos Esnard was also driver-in-chief, multi talented or at least he should be able to steer the players in the right road to success.
