Brazil’s Hugo Calderano and Ariel Hsing from the United States of America emerged as the respective Boys’ and Girls’ Singles champions at the Pan American Cadet Challenge tournament in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil on Tuesday September 7, 2010.

Both started the tournament in the top seeded position and both justified that seeding.

Tall, right handed, Hugo Calderano gave a performance of class and control to arrest the title while for Ariel Hsing, her speed and her fast attacking play close to the table brought success.

Final Stages
At the semi-final stage Hugo Calderano defeated Charles Deng from the United States of America before defeating Paraguay’s Sebastian Aguirre.

Charles Deng concluded matters in third place, beating Peru’s Julio Li in the play-off match; the Peruvian have suffered against Sebastian Aguirre in the semi-finals.
