Courtesy of ITTF It is common sense and it is exactly the policy adopted recently by the North American Table Tennis Union. Supported by the ITTF/NATTU Development Program, a group comprising 16 players and six coaches from the continent visited the Zhengding Training Center in Hebei from Monday to Friday August 2-13, 2010. |
Hebei is approximately two hours by train from China’s capital city, Beijing.
High Standard Accommodation
True to the best Chinese traditions, the group was well received with high standard accommodation being the order of matters.
A hotel of four star standard was provided with washing machines, dryers, air-conditioning, free wireless internet, bottled water and all other modern day appliances at hand.
Also for the hungry teenager and coaches there was plenty of food available for all the players; everyone was treated well.
World Class Practice
Excellent accommodation and of course the Zhengding Chinese National Training Center lived up to its reputation for providing practice of world class level.
“We received special treatment and were provided the best practice partners for our team; we noticed the improvement from last year as they have changed and improved their coaching team, attracted many high-level players who followed their coaches from the He Bei Province Team”, said Lily Yip, one of the United States coaches on duty. “Our results were very good; furthermore, Michael Hsing, who has taken Ariel Hsing everywhere throughout China, touted Zhengding as the best training center they have experienced so far.”
Fixture
It was an intense program with the North Americans hosting a domestic fixture; the United Stated played Canada with the former emerging eight-one victors.
Perfect Hosts
A truly magnificent time was had by all, the magnificent time was made possible thanks the co-operation of all concerned and the splendid organization, welcome and knowledge afforded by all involved at the Zhengding Training Center.
